Flying LED screens

A lightweight LED mesh screen suspended under a drone. A spot, a logo or a countdown visible from afar, over water or a cordoned square.

We start with a smaller screen and drone, with the goal of flying screens of up to about 5 × 10 m. You upload content as for any LED screen (MP4, MOV, JPG, PNG), and we plan airtime in 10–15 minute slots, in line with the risk assessment and the weather.

Shows look best after dusk. In daylight the LED mesh has less contrast.

Use cases

  • City days, harvest festivals, fairs and anniversaries: a countdown, the coat of arms, a thank-you to residents
  • Product launches and city campaigns: a spot over a river or a bay
  • Concerts and sports events: an artist entrance, a score, a sponsor
  • Sponsor events: the partner's logo in every photo and live stream

How we work

  1. 01

    Brief and site

We agree on the goal, date and location, and check airspace zones and a safe take-off area.

  2. 02

    Approvals and flight plan

Risk assessment, landowner and organiser consent, the airtime slot plan and a contingency plan.

  3. 03

    Content

You send finished creative or we produce it with you. We tune contrast and text size for the LED mesh.

  4. 04

    Show

Airtime in slots (for example on the hour), with a countdown and music from the event's PA system.

  5. 05

    Report

After the event you receive a flight report plus photos and video of the show.

  • Airtime in slots

Hovering with the screen lasts about 15 minutes, so shows are planned in 10–15 minute slots with a battery swap in between.

  • Slots on the hour

Short flight time is a feature: the audience waits for a set time, and each slot comes with a countdown and music.

  • Weather decides

In stronger wind or rain we move the slot. We agree on this with the organiser before the event.
